A successful Industry cooperation

The Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI™) is the successful industry cooperation defining the publicly available specification for the key internal interface of radio base stations between the Radio Equipment Control (REC) and the Radio Equipment (RE). The Parties cooperating to define the CPRI Specification and are now encompassing Ericsson, Huawei, NEC and Nokia. Nortel contributed as member of the CPRI cooperation to CPRI Specification versions 1.4, 2.1, 3.0 4.0 and 4.1 and left the cooperation in December 2009

Time Plan

CPRI cooperation is now working on increasing efficiency and the inclusion new features which will be published in new versions of the CPRI specification in due time.

CPRI Specification eCPRI 1.1

The CPRI Specification eCPRI 1.1 (in addition to the classic CPRI 1.4, 2.1, 3.0 , 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 6.0, 6.1, 7.0 ) is now available for download on the Specification section of this homepage.

The updated eCPRI 1.1 specification, presentation and Transport req. makes a few editorial updates primarily for clarity. The eCPRI specification will support the 5G Front-haul and will provide enhancements to meet the increased requirements of 5G. The successful cooperation to continuously develop the CPRI has made this specification a well-established interface on the market for all Radio Base Station products released by the individual CPRI Parties.

CPRI Specification eCPRI 1.0

The CPRI Specification eCPRI 1.0 (in addition to the classic CPRI 1.4, 2.1, 3.0 , 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 6.0, 6.1, 7.0 ) is now available for download on the Specification section of this homepage.

The new specification will support the 5G Front-haul and will provide enhancements to meet the increased requirements of 5G. The successful cooperation to continuously develop the CPRI has made this specification a well-established interface on the market for all Radio Base Station products released by the individual CPRI Parties.

CPRI Specification version 7.0

The CPRI Specification version 7.0 (in addition to 1.4, 2.1, 3.0 , 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 6.0, 6.1 ) is now available for download on the Specification section of this homepage.

The new 7.0 release adds 24G line-rate to the previously released 10G LTE-Advanced. The successful cooperation to continuously develop CPRI has made this specification a well established interface on the market for all Radio Base Station products released by the individual CPRI Parties.
